Went over to Rimrock a few weekends past for a weekend of relaxing and fishing. I ended up re-wiring a motorhome and working on the cooling system for a Samurai for most of it, but I did get an hour or two of fishing in. On the way back instead of just driving over the pass like a normal person I decided to take the path slightly less traveled.
I went up Bethel Ridge Road (FS 1500) from Highway 12 up and over the ridge then dropped down onto Highway 410. From there I skipped up to Highway 410 a few miles and jumped onto 1701 and took that up and over Manastash Ridgeline and dropped down to Manastash Road and into Ellensburg.
The initial climb up on most of the roads could be summed up with a single word. "Washboards". Bumpy bumpy bumpy bumpy. Made me wish that I had put the new shocks and struts on the weekend before. Once past the initial climb though the roads smoothed out and was a nice relaxing drive up and over the various ridges. It was fun to pop out on Manastash and recognize the trails spitting off from my last time in the area. Next trip out I will hopefully have more time to dedicate to exploring the roads and back country.

The hard life of camping.

The annual beer commercial add.

Sunny morning through the trees.

Look closely, you can see the fish we couldn't catch.

Getting ready to head out.
Then... Landscape Shots!

Fun fact, Manastash Ridge is a Tsunami Evacuation Route.

And the damage from the trip, my radio fell inside the dash. Still haven't fixed that. But she runs fine, so no rush.
