If your diff vents are up over the height ( depth) of the water you went through, I'd venture to guess you have seal in the axles or pinion letting water in.

when your diff goes into the water it cools and the cooling creats a sucking action on the vent and it'll suck anything in. You've got the vents routed higher but if there is a kink in the line or if the line is too small it'll restrict the air flow and the suction will us any path to relieve pressure.

Take off the fill plug and then go to the other end of your hose....blow into the hose and see if it's got free flow. You might need some bigger line.

You should always check the fluids after venturing in the water even with vent lines. If you play in the water alot you should also make sure the grease you use is water repelent. I've found that redteck grease is really good.

Good info zukimoo, I never knew there was a suction created in the diffs. Always thought it was just pressure.

it's pressure when you are running created from heat. The oil expands and creats the pressure. This is why when you close the vent that it'll blow a seal. I've seen leaky seals stop leaking after opening the vents.

The pressure turns into vacuum when you cool the diff/oil playing in the water. Just like when you jump in a cold lake....you've got to fight the urge to take a breath.

The little 10" vent extensions might as well not be there....if you are going to put them in the water they'll suck it all in. I run a hose from the back to the front and make it come out in the dash. I got one on the top of the tranny (drilled and tapped) and the same with the t-case. You'll vent from the sticks but I'm just trying to help as much as I can.

When the new co-pilot gets into the zuke i tell them about the roll over feature....if there is oil coming out of the dash....that means that we are upside down. I run Amzoil in everything and it's not cheap to change it all.

since you are playing in the water and probably mud then it's always good to take the whole front apart every year or even twice a year. re-pack all the bearings and check the birfs.  If the knuckels are wet then the seals are leaking.
