So I got the stock gears in my sammi, and I have 35's, and it moves fine. Gears are for burnin' too much money. I also have a 1.6 to help me out, so I figure I got that going for me. Anybody else using stock gears, and big tires on there sammi!

  Damn, you are stressing those axles and the clutch. I heard of people running those tires, but were open diffed and only did trails. No deep mud or rock crawling, unless you did a grs2 or more. Would like to see a pic of the sammy though. How much lift and what type of wheeling you do?

What engine do you have? a 16V has around 18% more power than an 8V, so I shouldn't think its much different to running an 8V on 31s

I'd start looking for some toys

REAL RED SAMMI'S SITTING ON A HOMEMADE SPOA WITH ABOUT 1" TALLER PERCHES AND I BELIEVE ABOUT 11/2" TALLER SHACKLES LOTSA FENDER TRIMMING AND EVEN A LITTLE SLEDGE ACTION,  BUT THATS THE LMS (LAKEVIEW MOTORSPORTS) WAY "CHEAP AS FREE" "MAKE IT HERT!!! " MY TRACKER IS FULL OF HOMEMADE TRICKS AND I MAKE IT HERT ALMOST DAILY!! OH YEAH MINES THE DAILY DRIVER TOO! WE WOULD LOVE TO POST PICS CAN SOMEONE LET US KNOW HOW?

8V :-/  don't get a chance to drive it on the street much.  i've only put about 200 miles on it this year. :-/

Mud Rovers, Mud Rovers, why are your 33/12.5's on international backorder  31/10.5's are too small

Pics are coming soon, got to the digital camera! but i'm guessing overall about 8in. of suspension lift.  

I rock crawl with mine at Paragon. I'm running 35x12.50 ProComp Xterrains with 5.125 gears locked front and rear. The t-case is 6:1. When I locked the front I also ringed the joints and haven't had a problem. The only problem I've had was the rear axles. I twisted splines and snapped both sides at once. (third gear wheelies don't help the matter) I did bend my rear axle but since my last outing I welded a gusset I made. The toyota rear shaft and traction bar I made really help as far as reliability.
 For lift I have 4" BDS springs, 5" leaf over, and 5" folding shackles with shackle reverse kit. And no, It's not tipsy!

, Black sammy, With that much lift and tires it is a matter of time. I wheel with 33's and 1-1/2" lifted wrangler springs with 6.5's and 5.38's. I do lots of wheel stands also because of the gearing and break stock rear sammy axles. But since upgrading to chromoly rears they seemed to have survived. I also upgraded the front birfs with rings and the front shafts with hardened ctm shafts. I can still blow the inner cage of the stock birf's with 2 hard wheely landings.
  Believe me dude your setup rocks hard but will break. On the other hand if we got ourselves CV Unlimited's sammy front shafts we would be set. Lifetime warranty and everything is new, bigger and chromoly and cheap at  580.00 a pair.

FlexMonger:  I do my wheelies in 2wd Low so the front axles aren't a concern in that case. I've been looking for the birfield eliminator for sami axles but can only fing them for Yota. Where did you see them? Got a link? Thanks in advance.
