Kick Wont Start.

Hello ZUKFREAKS, I got a problem. My '97 Sidekick Sport won't start. My starter and spark plugs were changed last year. I changed my oil, oil filter, air filter and battery just yesterday. I need to get it boosted each time. I get this problem in the winter, when it is really cold and in the summer when it is really hot and humid. My buddy tells me I have an electrical problem, what do you guys think?

I'd say go get your alt checked. If it checks out fine, I would think you have a grounded wire somewhere, and need to start tracing wires to find it..... :-/

I WOULD SAY GET YOUR STARTER SOLENOID CHECK. Take the starter down to a local part store and have it checked out. Suzukis are famous for bad solenoids.

Its your battery cabels,  it it changes by enviroment chances are you need new battery cables, rally simple test, just call and find the resistance peramiters, and ch3eck it with ta volt meter.

Also does it crank slower then usual, when the motor gets hot? that is a good sign of a bad battery cable or a bad Ground, check for corosion and rust.

I don't think it is my battery cables, they are in pretty good shape. My Zuk is super clean even under the hood. No rust or corrosion, but it does crank slower than usual.

If you checked the battery terminals, and they are clean, make sure you check the connections on the starter as well.

I've heard that the cold side of the ecm can go out causing you exact symptoms.
