Duning
« on: April 30, 2010, 02:09:18 PM »
It seems most of the set ups are for rock crawling---Any of you guys have a Tracker set up for street and duning--So you can drive it to the dunes and not trailer it----Any suggestions---Any pics.

I don't mean just putting in the sand---But actually duning like quads, rails etc-----Saw a Sammy last time at Glamis and followed him through all the big stuff on my KFX 700 VForce and that sucker was hard to keep up with.

I run the dunes with a 4 door 2 inch spacers and 2 inch body with AT 30s.  stock gears with manual.  I just air down and go almost every where my friends go with there side by sides.  I am looking for a 2 door as I think it would be a little better.

I've run my daily driver out in the dunes for a few years without issues, even jumped it a few times.  Just a light lift and 235/75 R15 Toyo All Terrain tires.

I haven't hit the soft dunes though, just the ones in Mid-Oregon.

The Sammy I was following had 14 paddle buffed tires and regular nobbies on front---He said only mod was a cam--There were 3 quads and about 10 sxs's in our group and there were a few bowls that were very vertical and the tops were deep sliding soft sand and the Sammy was the only one to do them---Thought so many times he was gonna go over but he didn't---The guy is a heck of a duner, but still couldn't believe what he was able to do with the Sammy-----I want a Tracker cause I want auto trans, air conditioning, coil springs and 1.6 etc.

So any pics of little Tracker duners---Thanks

+ a arm suspension in the front clears the razors better when transferring from one bowl to another

Yeah the long travel would be great---Saw the guy that chimed in on your post who's trying to make some up---But it's also more $---Probably a lot of $---I haven't done my quad for that reason.

I also would do a front bumper/skid plate with hid (or amber LED bar if I can afford it) lights on it and a "detachable" expedition rack w/ more lights  ;)

i took mine out there when i was 3" suspension and 30's. haha the thing did great. No offense, but i wiped the floor racing a Sami on the beach.  i made it up comp hill at florence, and got stuck at banchee hill in windchester...trees were to narrow.

My Zukiworld Challenge car will be used for just that. It is not street legal but could be very easily.

FYI I am not trying to steal this image, just have not ordered it yet... ;D
