Samurai power steering

I am looking at putting a power steering setup on my 88.5 samurai. I run 33x13.5 super swampers and a front locker with a spoa lift . do i need a toyota set up or will a track kick setup work? What year track/kick will work for the samurai conversion? Will i need a drop pitman arm for the conversions? Any help is apppreciated.

Trackick setups are very common - although some have sugested it is not up to the task of big tires and lockers.

The Celica pump is often used but it's big problem is availability.

There are a lot of TracKick PS conversion kits out there so it can't be THAT bad - espeically considering that the gearboxes are not as rare as the Celica unit.

Anyone else want to comment?

I run trackick PS and have no issues.  It is not full hydro, so I don't treat it like it is and don't expect it to perform like it is.  It may not be the best PS setup out there....but it works fine for me and is a hell of a lot better than manual steering.
Any PS setup off any trackick 1.6 will work (so any 89-98 with a 1.6).  The only difference between 16V and 8V PS is the placement of the holes in the pump bracket (there is about a 1/4" difference), where it mounts to the block.  The hole difference is not a big deal, if you are building your own swap kit.  I'm not sure how the vendors brackets compensate for the difference in bolt hole offset (or if they even do....I don't know that I have seen any mention of different conversion brackets for the different pump brackets, or a mention that you have to use either an 8V or 16V pump bracket with their kit).

Trackick P/S with a cooler and you will be loving life....If you plan on sticking with 33's.

If your thinking about going to a larger tire now or down the road, I would lean towards a Toyota set up.

That set up should be just fine for you, if you were hanging around on rocks id say IFS Toyota P/S system.
