LA Times Travel Section - Hidden gems: America's 20 least-visited National Monuments

Great suggestions for summer adventures... The least visited site boast only 14 visitors in 2009... How do they measure that?

I've been to two of the New Mexico Parks (Cliff Dwellers and Aztec Ruins). Well worth the trip.

Went to several in New Mexico last summer on my trip. My daughter took me to Gila ( they had to teach me to say "Hila") That whole place is just beautiful. Be prepared to do a lot of walking/hiking.

Usually by checking the log books, that is why it is so important that you sign in when visiting sites.  That is how the DNS and State Forest departments decide where the funding goes and what sites might be closed in the future.
