??? Petroworks' Clutch Fan Eliminator (1.3L Samurai) ???
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:48:13 PM »
Has anyone had any adverse effects from using Petroworks' Clutch Fan Eliminator for their 1.3L Samurai?

Are there any real performance gains to using that product?

Does anyone have one that they'd like to get rid of cheap?

Does you Sammy run hot?

I don't have one but, I wouldn't think it would be worth it.  An electric fan would free up a tiny bit of power from the engine and only run when you need it.  If you want a constantly running fan, just pull the stock unit and tack weld the clutch.  IMO, of course.

An eliminator is not a performance part, it is a performance reducing
part because the fan is always turning at full engine speed, but it does
eliminate a potential failure point (the fan clutch) so it makes your ride
more reliable for being in the middle of nowhere, but saps power from
the engine, about 5-7 HP on average as a guess.

If you want a little more gas mileage and power from your Samurai
(who doesn't) you should go with an electric fan setup instead.
