Thinking of getting some 33"s when my 31"s wear out, and I'm wondering if the stock axle's/cv's will hold up to 33"tires? And what gearing is needed, I was thinking of Tcase gears?

33 your starting to push it, but as long as you don't over-extend your CV's the drive train should hold up.  I ran 33x12.5 on stock Samurai hardware for quite a while.  You will be out a lot of power though, so unless it's an off-road only rig you will probably have issues reaching 5th.

I'd say run em, just know when to back off on the throttle.

To me if you're really going to wheel your Sidekick [Rubicon Trail, Pritchett Canyon, Crusher's Trail, etc...] 31" tire is absolute maximum and then you're going to want to upgrade to 26 spline up front, get the steel front end, and carry rear axles. If you're just hitting mud holes and driving gravel, then 31" will be ok. 33 is too much.

Of course your mileage may vary.

What?  Aren't all Suzuki's the same?    I suppose I should mention that I have seen rear axles snap with only 235/75 R15's, but Davey was hitting the track pretty hard and does have a spool in the back.

This is going to be my daily driver so its not for extreme trails, Masterkit1 says that 33s will fit with there 2"susp+3"body lift, so I thought it would look cool with 33s, I know it would need lower gears to help the 80 horses under the hood!

I got a four door with 30s.  when wheeling a few weeks ago on the applegate lassen trail, so just rough road and lots of mud.  Came home and it was leaking gear oil from front diff. anyways so i had to tear it apart and had a set of 5.63 on the bench so two birds with one stone.  I had broken a bolt on my diff and another was totally stripped.  I have drop diff brackets so probably more leverage on it.

I going to 31s next, but I will have a steel diff, but i think thats the limiit.

i broke a front diff housing on 31's on my old kick back in the day, i also broke rear axles with 33's later on,  i say stick with the 31's and be nice to it

I broke front diffs almost every time out with 32" swampers.

I run 31X10.5 on stock drivetrain in my kick and haven't had any problems yet.  It's a daily driver/weekend toy.  It has seen a lot of abuse and never a problem.

32" super swampers would put more stress on it off road then 33"AT tires, it also depends on what you wheel in (mud, rock, sand, dirt), I do allot of mud so less stress then rocks.

ide stick with 31s and get a locker or limited slip, they will get you farther on a trail than bigger tires IMO.
