I've got a 99 Suzuki Grand Vitara 2.5L V6.  I went to charge the A/C and realized the compressor wasn't spinning up.  I checked the fuse and it was blown.  I  replaced the fuse and the clutch immediately engaged and spun for a few minutes,  I went to check the pressure on the Low side and it was low,  I started filling it to pressure and the fuse blew again.  Replaced the fuse several times.  Got the system to the correct pressure. Now I just need to find out what's wrong with the electrical system.   Any body have any ideas?

If I'm not mistaken, that fuse feeds only two circuits - the a/c condenser fan and the a/c compressor clutch coil - gotta be one of those two.

When that happened in my 2001, it was the fan that was blowing my fuse. I'd check that first. I hear it's a fairly common thing with these.

It may be the fan, I hit a deer, and the fan seemed ok, but was seized, it kept popping the fuse.

Ummm - not according to my FSM - fuse #29, A/C fuse feeds both the a/c fan & a/c compressor clutch coil via their respective relays - of course we could be looking at different vehicles or different diagrams.

But then again - having looked at four different sets of drawings - all are like that - just the fuse number changes.

Should the condenser fan spin freely with the engine/power off?  Mine does not.  I think this might be my culprit.  Thanks guys!

Just to update in case anyone else has this issue. ..

My condenser fan was locked up.  That was blowing the 25Amp A/C fuse.  I unplugged my fan, replaced the fuse and the A/C worked fine.  Replacing the fan this week.
