won't turn left

88 sammmy just bought, said it was welded, front and rear. wont turn lleft when hubs are locked in. sorry i dont have a lot of info, i'm new to these big 4 wheelers. i was told to start with sammy and i could go anywhere anytime. lookin forward to getting this thing out there. if somebody could get me pointed in the right direction, we can get started! thanx

It won't turn left at all or just hard to turn left? you might have to jack up the front end and try to turn it.

If that refers too the differentials, then that is your problem.

When turning a corner the wheels on the outside of the turn travel further (and faster) than the wheels on the inside, the wheels on the front travel further (and faster) than the wheels on the back - to allow this to happen, cars are fitted with differentials, and if you weld the differential (usually done in an attempt to get more traction), especially the front, steering will become quite difficult when the wheels are locked.

yes i understand that , but it is more than difficult to turn than it should normally be,

VERY hard to turn left when locked in

locked front and rear, 88 sammy when the hubs are locked in all 4x4s are rough to turn i know that but this is too much than normal mainly left is reallly bad but the right side isnt that bad,
if somebody could just point me in the right direction i can figure out the rest and fix it i just need a couple pointers

with sammy just sitting, u can muscle it to the leftand it violently turns back straight
like its spring loaded

Could you post a photo of your front diff and steering components. Does it have power steering by chance?
