Front struts for 2" lift?

Front struts for 2" lift?

So i'm looking at a budget lift for my 1994 4dr sidekick.  I have looked at the boondox motorsports kit which inclides spacers for the springs, 2" longer rear shocks and 2" strut extenders for the front.  I don't even know if boondox is still in business because their site hasn't been unpdated in years.

Anyway, I see longer rear shocks being sold at various places for lifted sidekicks but I haven't found longer front shocks anywhere.  What are most people doing for the front shocks on a 2" lift.  Even the 2" strut extenders seem rare on the internet.

most kits steer away from strut extenders. most space the strut down with a full spacer that supports the upper mounting plate of the strut (using 3 bolts) much less stress on the strut shaft and less chance of it bending. as far as i know boondox has been out of business for a long time. quaility kits but not enough to keep them going.

there is only one company making a lift strut for the sidekick and thats OME. they are by far the best riding setup out there but the price does make you wince.

jeff1997 on here sells the full spacer kit and strut spacers, and so do some other companies depending on where you are from.

Ok, thanks.  I noticed that some of the spring spacer kits appeared to have 3 pairs of spacers.  Is one of those for the strut?

That SR customs kit looks nice.  I take it its better to go with aluminum than urethene?

If you have a 2" strut spacer you should not need a extended front strut.If you want an approx. 2'' longer strut OME makes it.

I personally think that aluminum spacers are better quality. Here is a picture if the strut spacers

Personally I think urethane is way better than aluminum. Of course that is because I make urethane ones!  >:D Actually either product fits the needs for lifting these little things and it comes down to personal choice. MUD CHILD makes a VERY nice product and I think mine is also great. PM me if you want more info on my stuff.

 I have had excellent success with NAPA sensatracs(for OEM replacement) with the AE 4.5" suspension lift on my Sidekick.

Thanks for all the help everyone!  I'm going to order Jeff1997's kit when my taxes come back.  Looked it up on ebay.  Looks good. 

Oh btw, I'm think a camber kit is probably a necessity with even a 2" lift.  I never lift anything but I've lowered a few.   A little negitve camber was ok on a sports car but positive camber?  yuk!

yes it is necessary when lifting the sidekicks. either use them or get out some washers and a die grinder and slot the holes so the original bolt can be moved over to correct camber. then install the washers either side, get it aligned then weld the washers in place so the camber doesn't change. (i have camber bolts in mine and i do have to re check them every so often as they do loosen off, when i get new struts im swapping them out for the original bolt and washers. IMO much stronger.

No need to purchase a camber kit, all that is needed is to slot the strut and you then have adjustable camber. I have never had a aftermarket camber bolt hold very well, they are easily half the dia as stock and simply are not large enough to handle the loads when hammering the truck. Besides the slot is free. I just drilled another hole and then afterwards used a carbide bit and a file to open up the slots. Works like a champ!!!
