89 Sidekick Fuel Pump Source.
« on: April 12, 2012, 03:06:12 PM »
It seems the fuel pump has gone out on my 1989 Sidekick FI 1.6. I have checked the wires and shorted a hot wire to the plug in the taillight and still nothing. In checking for replacement pumps I have seen prices from $36 at Rock auto to $192 at AutoZone on the high end. Is the $36 pump at Rock Auto the same pump or is it a rebuild kit? I would hate to order it only to find out I didn't have the whole thing or some other strange happening.

Is there a ZukiWorld favorite source for things such as this? It has been awhile since I have had it on the road, was working on a transmission leak and it just quit running...figures but it is time to let it live!

Thanks
Toolman

by the looks of it the 36 dollar one from rockauto is a full pump. BUT it is a low quality replacement.

cheap isnt always the best. carter bosch delphi denso are all higher quality parts manufactures.

not saying the 36 dollar pump will work but for how long is more the question... thats a pretty big difference in price so you have to wonder what makes it so cheap...

I recently got the Denso unit from R.A. Hung it in my old hanger.
