Archery BOW mount
« on: September 01, 2012, 06:23:44 PM »
Hunting season here already and I have been needing a good mount for my Bow.  Friends of mine have some mounts on their Quads, so I got a set and made a mount inside my Tracker.  I got the Bow mount from Cabelas, "Bow Grip Pro" by Mad Dog.

I mounted it to my roll cage and the back seat belt mount.

I need to figure out how to mount mine on the roll cage above my head inside the top.   My buddies are in the back seat, and passenger seat, so there's no room for my bow.   Any ideas?

Oh man you guys are giving me buck fever! I am rifle hunting so it doesn't open until mid October where I live.  I got my trail cam set up, trimmed branches  from shooting lanes, and I built a feeder this year too.

Nice bow mount, looks good on there 8)

Do you have enough head room for that?  Do you have a cage in the front or just the stock hoop in the rear?

It's just the stock roll cage that came in 88 samurais.  I was also thinking of hanging it down between the front, and back seats.   Or maybe on the hood some how.   Any Ideas?

The mounts I used have the ability to mount on flat surface, or round tubes although I don't believe they will go out to 1 1/2 w/o mods).  The trouble with mounting them overhead, is that you have to hold the bow up while using the velcro wrap to hold them in place.
I have been using them while up at White Pass for last week, really like how convenient they are.  There is just enough room to close the back door, and still have clearance at the roof.  And the bow mounted Quiver also helps keep the bow from getting smacked while loading the back area.

It was still to warm up there for good archery hunting, but had a good time.  Headed for Montana towards end of week!

I have seen mounts on the hood.  It does leave your bow out in the weather though.

The mounts have a base mount that could mount almost any where, and then the bow adapter that can rotate on the base to about 20 different angles.  The bow mount section has a slotted rubber mount so the limbs are cushioned and then a nylon strap holds bow in place doubling back with velcro hold down.  You could mount it on the back door also.  Last year there was some discussion on how to mount bows, and after using hunting partners quad with bow rack I knew that I could find a spot to install them.
