Removing Samurai Doors
« on: March 08, 2004, 06:57:01 AM »
What is the cleanest way to do this. I would like to be able to remove my doors when I hit the trail and be able to put them on when I return to the pavement. I have seen quick clips, but they talk about cutting the hindges. Anyone done this? How does it work? Any recommendations?

Thanks,
Nathan

I just remove 8 bolts when I go wheeling in the summer.  That's the ones on the front quarter panel that attach to the door.  Score them with an exacto knife and then try an impact or (this is after a screw driver) use channel locks.  Replace the stock bolts with hex nut bolt.  When fall comes around I put the doors on by trial and error.  You have to make sure the door closes right before you tourqe down the bolts.
Drunk on ego.   Surely thought I could make it right if I hit you one more time.  To help you face the nightmare of your life.

You can use a dremil tool and cut them without taking them off of the vehicle. It is very easy. Here are some links to articles on izook,
