Okay....lets DO IT!

I have finally accumulated the parts I need to install a 2" body lift.
I have the square tubing(2x3), I have the bolts, I am ready to roll.
I am somewhat mechanically enclined and have searched and read alot about doing the lift.
I should unbolt the steering shaft,
unbolt the brake juntion box,
take off the brake line clips(front),

I may need to lengthen the steering shaft,
besides that am I missing something?
Its a 92 4dr jlx w/air.

Anyone have any suggestions?
Any info that would save me headaches would be greatly appreciated.

You have to relocate the brake line on your driver side fender (assuming your north American) about 1 1/2" - 2" inches lower than the stock hole.

You have to extend your fill hose for your gas tank.  

It’s easy to do. Just find a piece of round tubing that will slip snuggly inside the stock hose.  Take a saw and cut the hose in half then insert the tube on both ends of your cut.  Now grab two of those ring clamps (the ones you tighten with a screwdriver) and place them over the ends of the hose where the tube was inserted and tighten them up.  You may have to extend the breather hose for your gas tank too. I didn’t have to, but I know some people did.



Errr… I can’t remember if you have to loosen off your park brake for the body lift or the suspension lift.  So just to be safe loosen off your park brake when you lift the body so you don’t damage any of the cable.

To do this, remove the plastic consol that covers your park brake and you will see a snatch block system located behind the hand lever in the floor. Loosen the tension of the snatch block by loosening the screw.  Make sure you tighten it back up after your done installing the lift or else you wont have your emergency brake.

if its like in the uk and bolts sieze on a whim
then i would give a few squirts of penetrating oil to all the nuts and bolts.. a few days prior to doing it

especially the ones under the front headlights

remember to use the washers already on the standard spacers (you need to turn them upside down) this then evens out the chassis where the bolts go through .. you will see what i mean when you do it.

if you have problems selecting 4wd low when complete ... slide under the truck and slice the rubber gaiter front to back ... this removes the tension from the gearstick and stops it jumping out of 4wd

 NEVER DONE ONE ON A SUZUKI BUT WHEN I DID ONE ON MY 94 TOY I DISSCONNECTED EVERYTHING BUT THE BATTERY . GUESS WHAT IT NEEDED DISCONNECTED. JUST SOMTHING TO LOOK AT.
