I was headed to Wallyworld to buy those Super Sport HT in 235/75/15 . Thought I would check out Costco on the way -- Missed a manufacturers $60 off by a day !!!  Then for the heck of it I went buy another just tire store -- they have Coopers -- They had one called a Discovery ST -- about $5 more to the total price then the Costco ones !!!  Anyone ever run these ??  I'm looking for an all around type tire -- not into rockcrawling or anything -- more mud and snow then anything .. and a lot of running around town ..

I've got 235/75-15 Cooper Discoverer A/T's on my '96 Tracker and I like 'em. Lot deeper and open center tread than most A/T's. No clearance problems and I paid just $260.00 installed.

I was asking at a tire store about these tires.  The guy there didn't like them because the tread blocks were solid.  Said that they hydroplaned like crazy and just weren't as good as they looked.  If anyone has another opinion of them I'd like to hear it.

TN_, did these tires fit okay on the stock 5.5 inch rims?

yah, the tread does look liek its pretty close together, a nice tire is the roughrider m&s (canadian tire) or Big-o tires they are the same tire, i dont recall how much they were but the have been on my brothers truck, and still lots of tread and he loved them the only reason why he didnt put them back on is because i got some 33's, the roughrider M&S is a awsome tire, i will be putting them on mine soon,

The 235's fit fine on my stock Tracker Wheels. I need an all-around tire for rain, snow, mud and these tires work fine for me.

There's been big problems in Australia with the Cooper st, the lugs tear off in rock and you can get a lot of chipping on gravell roads. Some sizes are being released as ST-C and these have a softer compound to combat the chipping.

I had the Coopers STT, and didn't like them at all  
They had a poor grip on rocks, very noisy on the street, lugs getting chipped off and the side walls are not strong enough.
I've got the MT/R's for about a year or so, and I'm very pleased with them  

Tires, like life, are always a compromise and what's good on the street will normally have a downside on the trail. For my use, 90% street vs. 10% trail, I decided on the Coopers and money was definately a factor in my decision. So was the fact that I live on a steep hill and get plenty of snow and ice in the winter. I wanted mud tires but they are useless on ice without siping and nobody around here has a siping machine.

I have these tires, and I have never hydroplaned.  I live in a place callled Watertown.  I did have a good 180 at an intersection, but I was turning too sharp went over the white boarder in front of a stop sign.
