Can't recall who posted this but I found this on another forum
I am having the same problem with my new tracker that I purchased in April of 03. It only happens when the temp gets down to about 15 degrees then the is this awful "rubbing" noise that eventually stops after a few miles. I took it to the dealer last week and they handed me a service bulletin with the heading "Squeak Suqeal Front Hub or CV Joint Area at Cold Temperatures #PI00811" that was issued on 02/12/2003. It describes the exact problem that I am having and the Recommendation/Instructions to the service tech is: Operating Characteristic No repairs should be made. I took my car to an independant mechanic to see what he thought and he called the dealership to see what they were doing about this problem and he got the same answer....we have to live with it! I have already contacted the Chevy Customer Satisfaction to have a file started on this and I am now in the process of calling the BBB Auto Line to start proceeding with them. If I had test driven this car on a cold day and heard this noise, I would never have bought it. I am angry that they did not inform me of this service bulletin when I made my purchase. Instead I am stuck with this until I can get some action. I am looking for other Tracker owners with this problem to encourage them to call the customer satisfaction number too. They told me that it is the only way they have to monitor problems and if there are enough complaints about the same problem then maybe a recall will be issued.
Mine does this too! At right about the same temp! Small world huh?
But I don't care so long as I can fly it someday like Mike.
