Adding coil spacers what shocks?
« on: November 05, 2003, 05:19:36 PM »
I am putting on coil spacers 1 1/8' from RRO this weekend front and rear.  I have heard I should go with a longer shock in the back.  What brand should I go with from the local auto zone/pepboys.  I would like the OME but I am in financial despair right now and would like some suggestions on size (I have heard mustang shocks) work good)?  Do I need to flip the strut mount or spacer?  Is there anything else concerning the strut I should be aware of?  Should I plan to take it in after to get aligned?  Will the camber be off at all?  Do I need coil spring compressors?  Is there anything else I should have on hand.  My wife will be out of town this weekend with the other car so once I begin I will not have a car to run to the store to get a part I need.  Thanks in advance for the replies.

for 2" use Crown Victoria shocks

Do I need to flip the strut mount or spacer?

In the front it would help and you
don't need longer struts, for now.

Is there anything else concerning the strut I should
be aware of?  Should I plan to take it in after to get aligned?
Align if it feels strange or pulls right/left

Will the camber be off at all?
  YES

Do I need coil spring compressors?
 NO

Is there anything else I should have on hand."

Not that I can think of, just tools and a hammer to
pound the studs out of the strut mounts, Ohh and
replacement bolts. 6 of em, grade 5 or 8 no hardware
grade crap here, it's a safety issue.

Post the pics of the transformation,
Good Luck
