OT - info on Amigo/Rodeo D44?

Thinking of possible axle upgrades.

Checked out the Izuzus.  They have D44 rears.  Nice.  They are damn near the same width as a GV.  Plus they have a 5 link rear, making it a viable swap.  Same bolt pattern as a Toy Hilux.

Anyone know where I can get more info on this axle?

I'm thinking a Toy front axle, same 6-lug.  Can get 4.88's in both Dana and Toy.  I can grab the D44 cheap from the U-pull-it

Not for me, I want a full size Anvil under mine with a long arm coily (can you feel the envy?).

Need to contact Tim Hardy.  I want to lose the GV rear shafts.  Tim's been running 31spline D44 shafts in a Hybrid Kick tube/3rd that has D44 sidegears.

I'm thinking...and it hurts.  Can't you smell the smoke? ;D

I was toying with 27-spline D30 shafts, as the sidegears fit the Kick ARB. But how about ARB D44 side gear?.  Machine to fit the ARB, get custom D44 shafts.  In all, it shouldn't cost much more than one $400 OEM replacment shaft (which I don't want to break again.)

Wish they made an ARB for the XL7 rear, or at least find out if the XL diff appears in another make (Nissan, Toy, Mitsu).  That would be the easy bulletproofing.
