Well, I don't have any additional lights, myself. But I know a couple of people that do and seem to be happy with the lower windshield mount light brackets.
I have opted for the hinges so the bracket wouldn't work there for me. Also, lights mounted there will cause a shadow from the hood unless you are aiming them up or out.
Lights mounted to the top of the windshield will probably be more functional but if this is your daily driver, they will also have a minimal effect of fuel economy because of the additional drag. And they will be vulnerable to low hanging branches.
If and when I add lights, I will probably add them up front, where they will give unrestriced output and be guarded by a brush bar.
