Fall Zuwharrie Registration is now online!!
« on: August 11, 2004, 07:17:36 AM »
Fall Zuwharrie:  October 8-10, 2004

It's Zuwharrie time again!  We had over 100 vehicles in attendance at the Spring run and expect to increase attendance again this spring due to word of mouth coverage.  Don't miss the Southeast's largest Suzuki gathering! Uwharrie trails have a little something for everyone from stock to modified.  Zuwharrie is open to all Suzuki-based vehicles, including the Samurai, Sidekick, Vitara, X-90, and Geo/Chevy Tracker.

Important Information
The event will be based in the Badin Lake Group Camp.  We have reserved sites A, B, and C for the entire weekend.  We have also reserved site B for anyone who would like to come in on Thursday.  Anyone arriving Thursday is requested to stay within the bounds of site B.  Please see a staff member if you have any questions.

Due to the incredible growth of the event, we ask that only Suzuki-based vehicles attend.  However, if you are a Suzuki owner and would like to invite a friend to attend that does not own a Suzuki, you may sponsor that person when you register.  Please contact a Zuwharrie Staff member if you have any questions.

Event Fee
There will a $10 per vehicle fee, due at time of registration, required to attend the event.  Voluntary donations will also be accepted to help cover the cost of the Saturday night dinner.

Payments/Donations are accepted via PayPal:

No one will be allowed to participate in the trail rides unless you have a valid pass.

How do I sign up?
Want to attend the largest Suzuki Gathering on the east coast? Get signed up now!

No one will be turned away, however, we ask that you sign up in advance so we know how many people to expect. Visit the signup page HERE to get registered.

You will need to sign a waiver form and either mail it to the address above, or turn it in at the event. The form is available online HERE or in person at the event.

There will be a registration table open Friday and Saturday morning at the event. You will need to visit the table to turn in your waiver form (available online HERE), obtain a windshield decal for your vehicle, receive your raffle ticket, and sign up for a trail group.

Who else will be there?
Are you worried that you'll be in the woods all by yourself, well, fear not! CLICK HERE and see who's coming with you!

What's the weather like for this event?
Fall in the Uwharrie area usually brings mild days and cold nights.  Things can change at any time, though, so we recommend you bring clothing for cool and warm weather.

Who do I contact for more info?

You may contact us via email at Info|removethispart|@Zuwharrie.Com, or post on our BBS for more information.

Please Remember
Alcohol is not permitted in the park. Drinking and driving will not be tolerated.  We will be in a National Forest and there are rules to follow.  Let common sense tell you what is right and wrong.  Remember that when you are at the campsite or on the trails that you are representing the Zuwharrie event, Zuwharrie.Com, our staff and sponsors, Suzuki owners, and the entire off-road community.  Anyone involved in inappropriate behavior will be asked to leave and will be prohibited from future Zuwharrie events.

Hey Art,
The no alcohol in the park thing.  Is that like in the park as in on the trails while wheeling, or is the campground afterward a dry-event too?  Oh well, either way I'm gonna go sign up now ;D Just wanna know if I should bring beer.

Hey! Cool! It will be cool to meet you. I'll be at the Registration table and you know what my zuk looks llike so I won't be hard to find at all ;D

I wouldn't say it has ever been a dry event. The truth is that the event is held on National Forrest Land. This being the case there is no alcohol allowed on National forrest land. But, if one were to be a responsible person and not raise cain all night then we would never know if you did or didn't.  ;) Absolutely no alcohol allowed on the trails and this is enforced.

The Fall event is just four short weeks away. The staff is getting pretty fired up about the event and we hope that you are too. There are still a lot of details to
finalize but the Fall event will be like no other that you have attended. We intend for this to be the most organized and enjoyable Zuwharrie event ever. We can't wait to see you there!

Just like the spring event we are offering Zuwharrie goers the opportunity to sign up for a trail group before arriving at the event. There are 3 different categories:
easy, intermediate, and hard. Each category has different routes available. Please THOROUGHLY read each route and choose according to your preference. Please note that some trail groups will not return to camp for lunch. Make sure that you pay attention to this. It is the last note listed in each trail description. If you sign up for one of these groups you will be responsible to provide your own lunch and drinks while on the trail so please come prepared. To sign up for your trail just find the group you want to join and reply with your name and vehicle (You could also post a photo if you have one available) You can sign up for a trail group by following this link: http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/board,35.0.html

Zuwharrie registration is still currently open. There are 50 vehicles that have signed up so far. You can see who all will be attending by visiting the "who's coming" page here: http://www.zuwharrie.com/register/who.php  If you have registered but do not see your name there is a reason. Only those who have paid their 10.00 registration fee will be shown. If you still need to pay to complete your registration you can do so by visiting the Online registration page located here: http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic,8173.0.htmlThen just click on the PayPal link to complete the process. Remember, you can also mail in your registration for Zuwharrie. The address for doing so is located in the link above. Please be advised that the last date we can accept the 10.00 payment for registration is October 6th. Registration at the event table on Friday and Saturday will be 15.00. The reason for the change in registration cost is two-fold. First, there are a lot of costs involved with running an event such as this. Event permits, camp ground rental, food for Saturday nights dinner, and event supplies. Second it gives us a better estimate of how many people to plan for at the event. Nothing worse than planning dinner for 200 and having 350 people show up. All that does is send people away mad. So get your registration in early! It benefits you and it benefits the Zuwharrie
planning team.

Well that's it for now! Stay tuned as the event nears for more details. We can't wait for the event and hope to see you all at Fall Zuwharrie 2004!!

Regards,
The Zuwharrie.Com Staff.

It’s almost here!! Fall Zuwharrie 2004 is just over a week away and we can’t wait! There are still a few odds and ends to wrap up on the staff side and I am sure that you all are packed and ready for the trip. Before you go please take the time to review the following information. This will ensure that you are well prepared for the entire event.

REGISTRATION
We are still accepting Zuwharrie Registration. The deadline for online registration will be 6 October. Please remember that you are not registered until you have paid the $10 registration fee and are listed at: http://www.zuwharrie.com/register/who.php If you have paid and are not listed please let us know. Registration will be available at the event at the cost of 15.00. This fee is per trail vehicle and not per person. Once you have registered you can sign up for a trail group at: http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/board=35.0.html  Please do not sign up for a group before you have registered.

All attendees must visit the registration table located near the entrance of the group camp. YOU MUST SIGN A WAIVER in order to join in the group rides scheduled for Saturday. After registering, you will be provided a special Zuwharrie sticker which must be present on your windshield during trail rides. Your trail leader will look for this sticker, if you don't have it you will not be allowed to join the trail group.

At the time of registration you will also be given a raffle ticket for the main raffle held after dinner Saturday night. This is the only way to participate in the raffle. There is a one ticket per driver limit.

TRAIL FEES
Please note, trail fees are no longer paid by the day at pay stations on the trail. There is now a $5/day trail ticket or a $30/year trail pass, both of which must be purchased from a participating vendor or directly from the ranger station. The passes must be visible/affixed to your driver side front windshield. Park rangers will be on the lookout for vehicles without these passes. It is up to each individual to pay his or her trail fees.  Remember, this money keeps these trails open so please make sure you support the park. If you need more info on where to buy passes please look here: http://bbs.zuwharrie.com/content/topic=8173.0.html
