Fishing and 4x'ing in BC
« on: July 21, 2004, 01:03:22 PM »
So I have gotten into fishing lately. I am a member of a board like this one but it is at www.fishingwithrod.com. Will I be running into any people from here over there? Or will I see some trucks that I see on here at the local rivers (vedder/fraser) ? Just thought I would ask, seems very likely.

i'm looking into fishing as a hobbie, never really done any serious fishing in my life. still waiting for my buddy to finish his sami so we can get out and do some fishing. i've been hunting for well over ten years now, and i really enjoy it. i'll need to buy some fishing gear but my problem is i don't know what to buy for fishing gear :D and timing just sucked this year to get into it. the cool thing is you can really explore bc looking for good fishing places, and you don't need to carry a gun licence either, less restrictions  :) so if not this year i will be doing some fishing next spring for sure.

Canadian Tire has a great amount of fishing gear.  Thing is, no one who works there knows anything about it.  ::)

I use to fish the Vedder, and Chillawack river.

But I'm an islander now, so I don't make it over to the mainland much anymore.

If your ever on the island, give me a shout.

I always hear about people needing a 4x4 to get to fishing holes.  Why is this?  Where are all these fishing holes that you need a 4x4 to get to?

A fishing hole that you need a 4x4 to get to is what you call, a good fishing hole.

Because those are the fishing holes located off the beaten track, so they won't be over fished.

Some places you see that are just off the road (cluttered With a row of family sedans)
have 15 guys standing next to each other with rods in their hands.

Then a guy like me drives buy and beats his way through the bush in his trusty steed (Tracker) and finds a fishing hole that none of those weekend warriors know about.  That’s where the fishing is good
