3rd link, 3 or 4 bolts?
« on: March 28, 2005, 01:25:18 PM »
I've had one of those days. After Destudding my tires I decided to put on my 1 1/2 inch rear spacer.
Since the spacers were in I couldn't get the frinkin bolts back in. So I took out the spacers (started to rain) just so I can get it back together.
Dang bolts still wouldn't line up. SO I got one started and tightened it up just so I can get the others back in (pouring rain).
One of them didn't look cross threaded so I thought it just needed some more help. It started to go in up to a point ,3/4 of the way in, and snapped it went >:(
Crapola.
Well it really started to rain and get dark, I put the tires back on and threw my tools in the garage.
BTW. this is all on my 4dr.
So now I have 3 and a 1/2 bolts in and hoping it will get me through the week till I can tear it apart this week end.
I figure as long as I don't get on it (good luck) I should be hopefully fine.
If not, I've over rotated  a rear end b-4.
WOW. one of my longest post.
and its not B.S. ;D

Thanks there Mike ;D
I'm hoping to get through the week and fix it later. I got the whole next week off  ;D
Spend a whole day taking out the 3rd and taping that booger out. I guess I can't use just a spring spacer till I get around that brake valve. :-/

If its a front bolt you can just drill straight through and put a bigger bolt in. I know quite a few people who have done that.

I'd try to get all 4 of them back in...There is a lot of stress on that joint.
