88.5 Tin Top with an 89 Sidekick 1.6.
I went out and did some light wheeling, through water, some mud and sand. Well, I parked it for a week or so. When I got back into it, I drove out my driveway and could not shift into 2nd. I pushed in the clutch and pulled over. What I noticed is the vehicle was still moving with it in 1st gear and clutch in. I went back home, jumped in my other vehicle and went to work.
Now the question: What is causing this? I first thought it needed an adjustment, then I thought if it was to loose I couldn't get it in gear. The pedal feels somewhat the same as before. I took it out last night out behind my house and could finally shift it into 2nd, sometimes if "everything was lined up". But, when I stopped, it still would move with the clutch in. I don't think this makes a difference, but when the transfercase is in N, I can run through the transmisson's gears just fine.
Thanks in advance.
