Questions
« on: August 27, 2005, 10:30:46 AM »
Hello,
First off I want to say this is the best forum I have seen, Alot of down to earth people.
If I may I have a couple of questions:
1st, Where on the block do you find the engine information? I saw it somewhere on a thread but could not find it again. One of my samuari's has a 1.3 (1987) and I was told when I bought the other one it had a 1.6/8v 1991.
2nd  does anyone know of a after market cold air intake,or a filter that would (K&N) type fit on top of the stock carbs.
3rd  My built samurai has a two bar and what do I need to do before towing it ? DO I just make sure the hubs are free and then put the trans in neutral and the same with the transfer case.                                                            Thanks Allen

Engine info is at the rear of the block on the L/H/S.

Towing it with a frame you UNLOCK your hubs place the gearbox in 2ND and transfer case in NEUTRAL.

How ever to be safe if your towing it any graet distance I'd take the time to drop the rear drive shaft as it only four bolts and could save you some grief in the long run.

hes right you should drop the drive shaft because it will spin the tranny and can kill it
I work at BC transit and we have to take out the axles if we have to tow it even a mile
so I would go with the safer route little more work
 :)
OOps, owell thats just the fender

no samis came stock with a 1.6 liter but it could have been swaped in place of the 1.3. it should have a 1.3 16v but maybe an 8v. calmini, sky well any of the vendors on the front page should have a performance air filter.
