Torque specs for ring gear
« on: August 30, 2005, 01:32:07 PM »
Ok guys, I need torque specs for the ring gear bolts and the carrier bolts. Ive spent my money on Toy conversion parts, sammy 3rd member stuff, and other stuff (26 spline axle and cv), so I dont have a manual yet.

Thanks guys,
Bill

According to Haynes, the diff carrier bolts are 20 ft-lbs for the sammy, 41 ft-lbs for the Track/kicks. I don't have the spec for the ring gear bolts...
Had a cool sig pic till I changed the text... sigh...

I picked up a FSM this week surpecheap  ;D so heres what it say's:

Ring gear 69.5 to 75.5 lb-ft

Carrier Bolts 36.5 to 50.5 lb-ft (front ) 51 to 72 lb-ft (rear)

lock plate bolt 7 to 10 lb-ft.

I have found a new use for my Haynes manual now, it's sitting beside the toilet   :o

I think using the pages to wipe your a** is probably the best use of that too :)
