« on: September 11, 2005, 09:04:07 PM »
I have acquired a complete samurai without a body, i have plans of creating a rock crawler, But im wondering what to do for a body, im thinking all tube.
Im sure people here have done the same, so any ideas and pics would be a big help!

If you do a full tube buggy I think sheet metal would just be a waste of time. The first time you dump it on it's side you have to replace it. If you just leave the tubs exposed, not only does it look cool, it can be fixed with a rattle can.

If you're shootin' for something like that picture, I'd suggest that you start from scratch and sell the Samurai body to someone that wants a Samurai. No offense, but by the time you get it 'trimmed' to work and look like the picture. THere really isn't anything left of the original design or intent of the vehicle. This coupled with the fact that there are a lot of people trying to find Samurai to build makes me think that a sale would give you the money you need for the tube and give someone else a Samurai to start with. It's a win - win! :)

wow, talk about a soft top,...and soft side, and back and front....but look,  I don't see the usual tear out on the drivers seat.  wonder if he is willing to sell it?
I just tore the original seats out of mine.  A dodge mini van rear ended me and the seat won't stand up any more... >:(
