I'm new here! - PLEASE READ! LOTS OF PICS!
« on: September 24, 2005, 12:12:28 AM »

Hey guys I'm new here and looking to buy a Black '92 Suzuki Sidekick 4x4 with 5spd REALLY SOON! for my next new exciting project!

Let me introduce myself first and my current '95 Chevrolet Cavalier project of 4 years. I have been member of www.j-body.org and also Im an official member of OntarioCAVS.COM show cars team.   ;D

I still got big plans for this car during winter time.  So far I got on this car is some "one off" Racing Harts C5  19" wheels sitting on Easystreet by AirLift - Air Ride Suspension.  00-02 headlight conversion with WingsWest BigMouth body kit, 35x35" Sliding Ragtop, RSX Type-S Black leather seats etc etc...   ;)

OK NOW ALL ABOUT MY FUTURE ZUZKI PROJECT!  ;D

Here is my questions! ???

1. - 3" body lift kit........ IS THIS kit from EBAY any good?!?!

http://cgi.ebay.com/Body-lift-kit-3-Suzuki-Vitara-Sidekick-Tracker_W0QQitemZ8002030079QQcategoryZ33585QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItemhttp://

2. - I have read about some chrome wheels not sticking too well with rubbers compared to steel ones?  Ive always wanted some polished or chrome wheels.  What do you guys think of 15x7"or 15x8" American Racing BAJA polished wheels?

3. - I want something like T.H Floyd's Tracker's... they're just PERFECT size for me.  Anyone know what size are those rims and tires??

Having your inputs and my questions answered.  It will be very much appreicated!

I'm looking forward knowing you guys more and chatting from now on! :)

Thanks!

- Darren

That's pretty good articulation, but not quite ready for off road  ;D
Welcome to the board, That's a nice cavalier.
Masterkit1 makes a pretty good body lift kit, as far as I'm concerned, they're all good, just some are more complete than others, if your planning to use stock bumpers, make sure the kit you choose includes bumper lift brackets. As for the tire/wheel leakage thing, I think it all comes down to how they're put on, some shops use a black sealant to prevent leakage(they may have used it on your C5's). I always request it put on whether it's my car(Aluminum) or tracker(steel), and I don't have and problems.

15x7 or 15x8, depends on what size tyres you want to run. Those American racing rims look like a very shiny version of the rims that were fitted to the UK only Wideboys (15x8) and Fatboys (15x10)

Uncivilized: Thanks man! :)

I'm looking for some rims and tires that would have some clearance without any serious rubbing issues.

I know for sure I'm getting some 15 x 7" rims and not too sure how big tires would be yet...  some 31" or 32" ?  Anyone know what size of tires would fit?

Please fix this to correct size?  -> 235/ ?? / R15

This is what Im looking at right now and going to test drive it tomorrow afternoon!

Its 1994 Pontiac Sunrunner GT <-  that must be some dealer rice "GT" badging... :P
- its got 5spd and 180,000 kms (112,500 miles) on the motor
- bad surface rust on driver side door and passenger quarter panel but no holes!
- chipped windsheild
- needs new battery
- looks like it needs a new top
- maybe needs new brakes

This guy wants $2,000 canadian ($1,700 usd) for it.   I think Im gonna offer him $1,000 canadian ($850 usd) for it.

This have been up for sale over 2 years.

What do u guys think?  Thanks!

Looks cool i've never seen a ponitac tracker before. As far as the rims i would go for a 15x7 if your trying to get away from rubbing, but remember with a 11.50 tire your going to have a lot of sidewall bulge and that should be included in you measurements for clearance. As far as the amercan racing rim they are great! the baja is one of the best priced wheels they offer. the polished is awsome cause it will never rust but requires lots of maintence to keep shiny and the chrome is not a true chrome its a sport chrome. that means you can see lines in the finish from maching. But as long as you keep it clean they won't rust. Cool tracker i like the lower look my self.

I have 15x8's, but they are not the chrome ones.  I have a two inch Calmini lift and 235/75/15 BFG's (29").

Thanks!!

ARE has two different Baja wheels.  Chrome and polished.  So I guess mine are polished.

Even with the two inch lift mine rubbed a little.  My rims are 8" wide though!  I think that is why they rubbed.

Some of the people on Zukiworld have done 235's on stock wheels with no lift and no rub problems.  It varies from vehicle to vehicle.
