Hi guys, this will be my first winter with my tracker and new nos Kayline K2 soft top, this top had been discontinued and i would like to keep it around for a long time.

i have a few questions about how to care for it in colder weather..

I dont have room in my garage for my tracker, so what do i do if we get a big snowfall?
wouldnt the wieght of the snow buckle and stretch the top?

Also, are there any protectants out there with a sunscreen built in to protect the material from Harmfull UV rays?

 thanks for all your help!

Read this http://www.303products.com/tech/pdfs/lifesavingprotectant.pdf

303 is the best stuff I've ever used.

Careful brushing snow off the plastic windows (certainly don't use a scraper!).  I never had problems with the soft top stretching from the weight of the snow, but after two winters I splurged and bought myself a hard top from proline for the cold season.  It was worth every penny to have glass windows and it even insulates it a bit more.  My owners manual warns against even touching the plastic windows below 40 degrees claiming that they could crack - i don't see this happening unless you try to fold them in half or something.

Its not a big deal to switch tops (about two hours if you take your time) and is worth the investment if you live in the snow belt and plan on keeping the car for a few years.  I bet you could find a used top for cheap if you look around, try ebay perhaps.  It might require new weather stripping but that's just a few bucks at the autoparts store.

i do have a rally tops hard top on the tracker now, but i just cant stand the look of it!, its a bit different then say a oem hardtop... i was really worried about the weight of the snow stretching my new top out since these things as you know arent very thick!

I will check out the 303 protectant, thats what Kayline recommended in the install directions for my top. thanks for the tip!

I just push the snow off with a push-broom.

In March, 2003, we got SEVEN FEET of snow - in one storm (about 36 hours).

That's me, grabbing the snorkel on the Gnewt.
