Hi Midzuki,
4.16 gears are Ok if you are only playing in the mud and have a good strong running motor.
5.14 gears are a real good allrounder for mud a bit of rock crawling and general off camber / go slowish situations - you can use all 5 gears in your tranny to get a gear that works.
6:1 and lower are really only suitable for hard core rock crawling and the likes ( not what all of us are into

) - but way too low to get your rubber spinning in the mud.
NOTE: These are my experiences in various rigs. All these rigs where fitted with 3.9 ring and pinions ( standard )
