I just picked up this sammi last weekend, drove it 100 miles home, ran great, untill last night, it got down to about 20 degrees here in oregon,

I turned it over, and it started right up, then it died, Then i waited a second, then tryed to start it again, and nothing happened....WTF

So im thinkin maybe there some water in the fiel filter or hardlines,

1st i looked at the fuel filter, then hard lines, then cap,rotor,plugs, spark plugs,vacum hoses,fuel pump, and prett ymuch looked over anything

i have replaced

-cap
-rotor
-spark plugs
-fuel filter
-and fuel pump and still it wont start,

I sprayed some starter fluid in the carb, and turn it over and it starts right up...Then dies,

So i figure the air and spark at hitting right about with the fuel fromt he started fluid,

But the fuel from the gas tank isnt making its way up to the fuel pump and into the carb

So if anyone has this problom or have ever had this prob, PLEASE HELP ME OUT

Sounds like you have water in the tank,get a couple yellow bottles of heat in there and find a heater to warm the tank up and shake the rig good when it gets warm, I use a propane torch to start my stock on so I don't have to mess with it much, I just pull the jet out of it and put it in the air intake of the air filter open it up and start the engine, it will run fine for about ten minutes or so like that untill the fuel hits it then it will run rich but will not foul your plugs that way.

Hmm, here is my Update, i am getting fuel to my fuel filter but nothing past that, maybe the hardline between the fuel filter and the fuel pump are damaged somehow, but i blew in the had line from both ways, and seems like the flow is fine, I would try compressed air but i dont have one ,

I put some HEET in my gas tank and shook my truck, i think that allowed the gas to flow to my fuel filter,

what would cause gas not to go to the top of the fuel filter and threw the hardline to the fuel pump ?

If all else fails i guess ill drop the tak tonight and drain the gas, and start over,

need to get my sammi running asap for snow run on saturday

What was it? my sammie has a drain plug on the bottom of the tank.

dunno, it ran good for an hour untill i got 10 miles from home, and it died, had it towed back to my house, tryed to work on it on the side of the road but its 20 degree's outside..

I had a problem with my sami sounds very similar it would run for ten min then die
so I took apart the carb and did a good cleaning and spray out all the hard lines replaced the flex lines and filter
also maybe its your fuel pump starting to go acting up

i replaced the fuel pump, i am gonna drop the tank here in about 30 mins

anyone know what i should use to clean treat the tank ?

Fixed again, it was the gas tank, the oultet was pretty glogged, and the rubber lines were cranked,
