Well I was looking to purchase a Sidekick soon and it wouldnt see much of the road for 2 years because I am serving a driving prohibition. I figure even after the 2 years are up the machine wont be close to the way I want it so not driving it shouldnt be a problem.Yes it would be nice to drive it to the local shop myself but I can work out other arrangements!! Anyway I would store the vehicle outside my place on jack stands and most likely I would purchase I cover for it. I have lots of time to change the fluids and things and I would change the fuel filter right before it went back on the road. What common problems can occur from storing a vehicle for a few years. I dont meen problems like bad gas and oil. Maby rusting the gas tank?

THanks

I have had my Tracker since August 01.   My parents are trying to talk me into buying a new car, like a Honda Civic or Toyota Camry, or something, theyre even offering to pay like $150 of each of the payments.   I was like hey, that sounds cool....... Im not getting rid of my Tracker.   I tried bargaining my way into a Suzuki X-90 though...... as my winter vehicle, my Tracker for SUmmer.   Id be in heaven if that happened  ;D

I will never be done with my Tracker.   In fact, in my future Will I will put "Bury me with my Tracker".   Ha ha, Here lies Matt Campbell 1984 - 20??.... and Geo Tracker 1996 - 20??.

Well thats alright. I plan on keeping the Sidekick I purchase for a long time. Looking for one that has no rust and is in good shape so it should last many years. :-\

I only had my Samurai for about three years.  I am really sorry I didn't really give it more of chance before trading it off on a Nissan Pulsar.  (yes I know... but the pulsar turned out to be one of my favorite cars... ...really turned a nice corner and very comfortable to drive on a long commute...)

I have had my Tracker for about five and a half years now, and it is still basically stock.  Now that its not my DD anymore, i'll probably start doing a few mods...

If your Pulsar was a manual, did 5th gear work?   I almost bought one, but a ton of them had problems with 5th gear.   Just curious.

I picked up my SJ-410 in fall 03, not having a clue that it was any different then a Samurai.  I bought it as a wheeler to compliment my YJ Daily Driver.  Well, the YJ's 2.5 didn't like staying together, and was quickly sold, but the SJ started being modified though trial and error and whatever parts I found for cheap.

I now have a 96 Tracker though, for all of two weeks.  :D

Got mine in 2002 and have only put about 1K miles on it.  :(
Started modding it just this year with the body and coil spacer lifts.  Planning bumpers and some sort of rear cage this summer.  I already know I'll never be done tinkering it and I will NEVER sell it.  I'll drag it behind a motor home when I retire in 25 years.  ;D

'89 Sidekick w/ 4.5" of lift.
