The Zuke is on its way out.  Getting a vehicle that will behave and be supported by the dealer.

Traded it today for a Corolla. GOt $7400 for the zukie, 150 less than what I owed.  I knocked the Corolla price down to 14,755 plus 500 rebate.  Overall, pretty pleased with the deal.
The zuke actually was an ok rig to drive.  Just severe spark knock along with two non responsive dealers plus a non responsive DM combined to kill any enthusiasm I had for it.  WHile I did have it, it was fun to drive, got me where I wanted to go and did it w/.o too much drama.  But the spark knock was baaaaaaaad.  TOday, I was scared they'd drive it and notice it but all they did was start her up and check the lights.  Whew!
So bottom line, I had to do what I had to do.  I knocked 2% off the interest rate, lowered payments to $200/month, meaning if I lose my decent paying job, I can be a shift manager at Taco Hell and still afford the car.
I'll drop by off and on. I'll keep tabs on Hagen and his flying rig!  ;D

Stick with your rig mike.  My assumption is that both dealers and the DM saw some $$$ in time and parts and figured hey, if we stonewall this guy, he'll giveup and come see us after the warranty and then we can make some money!
I narrowed it down to main timing chain tensioner (there's a bit of rattle at cold start) and or lifters sticking in the bores.  In either case, it would necessitate a major teardown to verifiy one or the other.  And they weren't willing to do that.  I also suggested they throw on a knock sensor to see if the OEM one was defective. Nope.  No codes, no replacie parts.  Ah so.......very very sad!

Hell at least if they made an attempt at something, I would have met them halfway.   But naw, they preferred to blow me off so guess what ASMC?  I sure as hell don't need you'uns!  8)

Oh well.  Sometimes you win sometimes you lose.  I licked my wounds, pride, and time and moved on.  Life is too short and there are far too many choices of rides out there to be stuck with a rig that the dealers refuse to service.  I guess ASMC sales are better than I thought; the must be doing well enough to afford to lose me as a customer.  Can you say goodbye?  I can and did!  >:(
It'll be interesting to see if I even get a response to the nasty letter I sent to ASMC.  Its a wonder the words didn't smoke on the page.

mine has been knocking since I got it.  tried everything to fix it, to no awail.  well, had 173000 km on it.  no a yer has passed, still knocks after many work and wheeling trips. Some severe beatings, too.  So it knocks, I stopped caring.  pretending it's diesel.

In the owners manual of a Dodge Van it said

"Some knock is normal and will not hurt
the engine", even tho the manual also
said 87 octane fuel is fine and higher
octane fuel is not needed.

My interpretation, we are too lazy
to fix our POS Dodge engine so it
won't knock, and we don't care because
not enough of them get damaged to
offset the cost of fixing the problem

:P

I'm not making this up,
I read it in the manual  ;)
I just always look between the lines,
like the extended auto sale = we didn't
sucker sell enough of these cars so we
are giving you another chance to get one
;D
