jookycola...your from mi, right?? im in attica...if ya need a hand workin on your rig we could knock it out in no time at all....i also got the 2" spacers ft/rr from jeff....they are bad|removethispart|@$$!! but i didnt realize how baja style it would sit because of the geometry of the front end, so i added some 4 dr coils to level her out....fits 31's no prob...but i only have 235's on it now because they are almost new....but if your going 2" in the rear i almost reccomend using at least a 1" spacer on your upper a-arm...i had a binding issue when i first put the spacers in....it was pretty rough to put the springs back in because of the binding....i couldnt get the axle down far enough....and you should be able to press the steel sleeve out of the old shock and put it in your new shock....i believe the bolt is a 12mm X 1.75....and im not real sure on the length....something like 60-75mm?? but you def. want to get hardened bolts otherwise the steel sleeve will wallow out the boltand then the shock will make some noise....i had this happen to me...

I got mine from Jeff (Hoepkers).

Jook, for the rear shocks, here's the big issue I had with mine--the Monroe Crown Vics. Maybe this isn't the case with other brands, or with YOUR truck, but it was for mine (95 2-dr Track).

The bolts that come with the new shocks won't fit into the holes in the truck, and there's not enough metal around the holes to drill/expand them out. Therefore, you're supposed to use your old bolts, and remove the little circular insert piece (sleeve) at the end of your old shock that the bolt goes through and stick it in the new shock so the bolt fits perfecetly snug in there, like a well-behaved bolt is supposed to.

My problem was that not only couldn't you get that little piece out of the old shock, it was too big to fit in the new shock ANYWAY. If you don't remedy this, the bolt doesn't sit snuggly in the hole in the shock. (This may not even be that big a DEAL, but if you're going to be killing yourself working with that dreaded spring compressor, you might as well have the right fit.)

Fortunately, my mechanic had 2 itty bitty thingy pieces that did the trick (one for each shock), but if you face the same problem, this is something that's going to hang you up. After you buy your shocks, you may want to buy two cheap insert pieces like this just to be ready before you start disassemblig all of this metal.

Unfortunately, I can't tell you the old bolt's exact size so you'll know the exact size opening you'll need, but maybe someone here does.
I used to press them out using a vise and two deep sockets. Now I just cut them out using an angle grinder with a zip disk, it's much faster. I've never had a problem putting the old sleave in the 91 CV shocks.

Thanks Geoooo.
my tracker is from Houghton Lake, so it has a lot of rusted/fused nuts and whatnot.  Have you ever had to futz around with your suspension?  how rusted and jacked up were your rigs nuts & bolts?

Mine were so bad i had to pay to get my first brake job...the calipers were fused.  Well i bought the shocks.  But the struts were a bit pricey  :o  $65 a peice |removethispart|@ Autozone?!?!?!?  YIKES!
So i'll pick those up tomorrow.  I just gotta order my spacers from Jeff and i'd want to knock this out soon.  Thank you everyone for all your help.  Zukiworld rocks.

65 bucks for front struts are actually pretty cheap

I know the struts for my Z24 were $109 a peice.  I just was expecting under $50...no biggie.  Now my only stumbling block will be the bots and how fused and jacked up they are.  And I guess how i'll get that spacer out of my old shock.....which will be the least of my worries.
Really i'm just worried about the rusted bolts more than anything.  They've killed more weekend wrenching jobs i've wanted to do more than anything else.
