What you have is not called a sammy, per say. It is called an SJ413W, a.k.a. a long wheelbase sammy with SJ410 width axles. Just a little piece of info that I found out while researching mine.

the doors on my LWB read samurai super to match the pinstripes and the parts LWB I have has samurai JX badges on the side and the dashes on both have the samurai badge on it

also my parts LWB has the wider axles rather than the narrow ones I'll try to dig up pics if I got em

It might be called a sammy setup like that in some markets. But notice how much narrower the axles are than a regular sammy, they are the same width as SJ410 axles only with larger diffs. The telltale sign is the fenderflares. They are only about 1" wide vs. 3" like a sammy. Essentially the truck is just a narrow axled sammy. The rest of the truck all sammy.

not all lwb's are narrow axled, my parts LWB has the wide axles like I stated earlier ( it's an 87 with 3.73's) same width as the ones on the other 3 SWB's I own(87 and 2 88.5's)

there was a brief period when the sammi came with 3.90's in the narrow axles( full size pigs) 85 ithink it was

yeah I was missing a few things on that truck( stock grover) but all I used off of that truck was the frame and body. the rest is all sidekick internals and a 88.5 sammi t'case oh and the seats.

the hubs on grover were manual(85) and the the 87 parts truck were auto.  Auto locking hubs were always available through most of the years for the sammi/SJ's

hehe, I got a few ppl after it, and i came close to selling it one time, but now I decided to keep it, definitely not for offroading though at least the offroading that I do, that's what grover is for ;D

I'll prolly make it into my daily driver after it's over 20 years old (its an 85, no emissions test if older than 20 years here in Ontario Can.) would make a good winter truck up here

i just got a 91 LWB sammy with removable tops.we put a set of tyres on it,a 4.16 t/case,set of shocks.gew 9000 lb winch and we went out and WON our first winch challenge event.

Careful you don't pull the Sammy in half. <g>

One of the Sammys in the 4WD club had a flat in the mud... couldn't use the jack. He tossed the cable over a branch & lifted the front off the ground. (Sad thing is, he couldn't get the winch cable loose from the tree afterwards. <g>)

Should have used a tree strap ;)
Must've been one heck of a good bumper to hold on that good.

I didn't see it... just a story bantered around when he drove into the next meeting. The bumper was ugly... a channel iron... I didn't know there was enough meat to attach one on a Sammy.

"With the right tires, this thing'll climb a tree." (Just try to get down aftewards.)  :D
