My dream has always been to graft the front flip top section from a two door onto a 4 door.  Here is the ultimate 4 door Kick.

Waaaay too cool.   Thats why you gotta love these cars, no ones afraid to cut into them.  I may try to take the 2-door back off a sidekick and hack it onto mine next summer.  but performance stuff comes first.

Whats the reccomendation on new front hubs?  mine are crumbling.

I don't think you would even notice the back being open from the driver seat.  In the 2 door the I notice the sunroof section much more than the rear part.  I think to do the sunroof section you would need to cut the donor at the A pillar and B pillar and weld the entire thing onto the 4 door being careful to ensure the windshield still fits.

Hm...yeah, thats similar to my first idea.  i found a hatch i think is off an old humvee. wanted to heavily modify it and cut it into the roof.  would go with the OD paint.    the thing is pretty thin,  but weighs waaay to much for my thin tracker roof, and its beyond me at this point to brace it.
