That formula is for a 4 cylinder engine, for 6 or 8 you just need to
add half or double the figure, This is the first time I have ever seen
that formula in text in over 20 years, I used to use it all the time
when I was thinking up a Bug engine, I wanted a stroker w 90.5
jugs on it and about 1800cc

Hi

I don't know if you have already purchased a vehicle or not, but if you are still looking, then I can highly recommend the 1.8L Sidekick Sport. I bought one around 7 years ago (a 1997 5door Automatic) and have had almost no trouble from it at all, MAF died and I had to have it rebuilt (sent it to Python Injection) but other than that it has never let me down. It has adequate power even running 33" tires, granted I have 5.12 R&P at the moment and am on my way to install 5.83 R&P.

I do have a 2.0L Grand Vitara engine to swap in to get a little extra torque and horsepower while still retaining basically stock Suzuki parts and reliability. I plan on installing a new timing chain first and a slight overbore to push it to almost 2.1L (The 2.0L engine has about 160.000 miles on it).

I have run the vehicle all over Iceland (were I live), up on the highland, through glacial rivers, snow and mud and never had any overheating problems, no timing chain clatter, no broken parts, just grate fun with out any hassle. Basically what I am getting at is I use my vehicle and it doesn't let me down.

Hope this helps you with your choice.

Best regards,
Tryggvi
