I have been online looking for a map that shows the location of the current fires.  Anyone have one?

And, on a related note, a new fire just started outside of colorado springs...bigger chance of affecting our trip:

I had three of my buddies go out to CO Springs this weekend for an adventure race.  The race got canceled about half way through.  Everyone had to evacuate the course.

Thanks for the link.

The fires are terrible this year. Of course they are thinking they have an arsonist around the Teller County area, which makes it even more dangerous. I'm about 50 or so miles from the Waldo fire and the entire area is filled with smoke.

I have friends and family in Colorado Springs; they say the same thing.  Looks like that fire is growing like crazy.  I was looking at a topo map of the area...the terrain looks like a nightmare, from a firefighting standpoint.

That's awesome!  I can't wait for the trip.

I may have to hit you up to borrow your shower in the motel room.  A week of being out doors all day, every day might be too much for my fellow Suzuki enthusiast.   ::)

Just to warn you now, I have lots of questions about Samurais.  With your list of vehicles heavy on Samis, you look to be an easy target.

I am considering this trip. I won't be roughing it with a tent though.  ;D It would be great if more east coasters were going out.  I have done I think nearly all the trails mentioned and many more than once.

I'm doing everything in my ability to still make this. The past couple of weeks have damn near depleted my vacation fund. AC going out, vet bills, vehicle repair, re-up of all my vehicle insurance, etc..... If I can get the bike and the vette sold in time I will be there. If not, it's not looking to good  :'(

Looks like I am in.  ;D Vonnie has bought her plane ticket to Durango to join up with me after this part of the trip.  I really wish I had someone else from the east coast to make the trip with me. Come on east coasters!
