What?  Any reasonable body or suspension lift, which includes the ones we are talking about here, is acceptable for street use.  Both of my Suzukis are lifted and both are driven regularly on the street by my wife.

That's your opinion.  Any professional manufacturer will not recommend body lifts for on-road use.  Yup, for liability reasons.  But liability isn't made up, it's real.  Lifting a body off the frame increases the potential of the body separating from the frame during a severe impact or crash.

Additionally. lifting a truck, be it body or susupension or both, increases the COG, negatively affects handling and increases the potential of roll over.

So, a 3" suspension lift or a 3" body lift will result in the same crash rating as the truck in stock form?

Now don't get me wrong, I have a total of 5.5" of lift (body and suspension) on my GV.  I drive with my old lady and kid in it.  And I understand that my potential to have an accident an/or injury is increased.  I live with that decision.  "Safe" is a relative term.  What one considers safe is dangerous to others.  I've had folkd refuse to ride in my truck because they considered them to be "unsafe".

That's all I'm saying.

Yankee boy,

There is a big difference between adding lift blocks and dismantling your steering linkage.  Go away!

Yankee BOY?  LOL!  Resorting to name calling sure does speak volumes about your maturity and intelligence level. ::)  Such a noob.

Yes, there is a difference between adding lift blocks and using cheezy steering linkage pieces.  But so is there a difference between safety of a stock Vit and a body lifted one, whether you want to admit it or not.

Funny, I'm sitting here with a CALMINI 3" body-lifted GV, with a professionally made component to correct the issue with the steering linkage.  Works perfect, and has had no issues with it al all in 2 years and 25-30K miles on it.

Maybe I could take a picture of it and show you how they engineered the fix.  Maybe I could help you out and make it so your body lift would work.  Maybe I could even make the part for you, just 'cuz I'm a nice guy.

Maybe...

Maybe not.

Nope, not.  See, I have to "go away". ;D

Enjoy you non-functioning body lift, Sin. :P

Welded steering linkage, ya, so what, the factory
welded the U-joints to the end of my steering shaft,
so welds are unsafe ??? tell that to all the people
flying around the country, lots of welds in those planes.

The most important piece of safety equipment is the
one that's located between your ears, use it and live,
or not, depending on how good it is. (see Darwin awards)

If I need to weld a steering part, I do it, I do it right, I
think my weld is a tad bit stronger than the rag joint
I've seen on many vehicles.

Does that GV or XL have power steering ??
that makes the force on the weld even less, make it
work and stop whining about the small stuff, there are
bigger things to complain about, like land closures
in Moab  >:(

Accusing someone of death threats openly, I hope you have evidence of what you acused them of, because that is a VERY SERIOUS accusation. I personally know many of the guys at Calmini and could not imagine any of them doing that!!!!

Just to make it official,

I NEVER SAID THAT CALMINI MADE THE THREATS.

I don't know who did, you guys jumped to conclusions.

Oh, I'm sorry, I guess you meant the OTHER Suzuki parts aftermarket manufacturer in Bakersfield.  Exactly what conclusion did you expect us to make?

You need to read it again. I said someone got threats after TALKING ABOUT the company, not FROM the company.

I do apoligize to the readers of this forum.  I don't hate everyone, just Calmini.  That's why I'm not welcome here and I get flamed. Big brother doesn't like the vocal unhappy customer, it's bad for business.

To be honest, I think it comes down to personal preference, pretty much like everything else you buy.

Zukicidal, zukicidal, and/or (Bobby),

Thank you for apologizing to the readers on your forum for poor behavior. This forum, made possible by vendors contributions, prides itself on being one of the only places on the net where real conversations take place. I am proud that there is less fawk this and that, less angry little emoticons, and all out character assassinations then on most other forums on the web. This is so because the community of people on this forum pride themselves on good honest dialoge and useful communication. Both of which you have not demonstrated with your actions and posts. I've read your post here, your PM to me, and your recent profile changes. It appears that you do not want to join this community but would rather trick them into thinking you want to contribute.

Farewell Zukicidal, zukicidal, (Bobby)

Thank you, Eric
