My Vitara (UK Tracker) is sat outside with pretty much the same problem. I'm going to fit a 1" spacer under the throttle body, hopefully it'll give a bit more power and should also lift the intake up high enough for me to refit the stock hose.

i used a 10" x 2" high fileer and housing from edelbrock had to lower the solenoid for the egr valve and do a little work with the pcv valve but everything worked out good
