I'd still like to think about doing the Magruder Corridor run.. it's a moderate trail, not really easy like a graded road, and not hard. The scenery is fantastic, the fishing is great on the selway, and when you arrive in Darby MT, you feel it's a town you could spend the rest of your life in. The middle to end of august, right before labor day is a good time for this trail. You travel through three different national forests, and it's up in northern idaho by grangeville, so people from washington and montana might like to come. The best way to run it is to go from grangeville to darby, and it's about 120 miles of forest with no services.

Here's a pamphlet:

Here's a pic of the sign that I found on the net:

I heard about that run a while back and want to give it a try.  I figured it would probably be something to do on the KLR instead, but the Suzuki would be fun.  If a bit of a drive back to the trailer.  :D

I've got it.  The First International Suzuki Hardcore Extreme Run!

First, Naches, then cut up to Rimrock.  From there cut over to Reiter Trails, then up to Walker for a night run.  Then up to North Fork, then catch a Ferry over to Victoria to hit some rocks on the Canadian side of the border, and visit the wineries.

A Rimrock trip would be cool though.  My big goal next year is the Rubicon though.

I was thinking about combining your offer with a tour of Oregon's good trails to create a PNW Power tour kind of thing. I've pitched this idea out a few times and got a few nibbles from people that would come out from as far away as Wisconsin and Minnesota. :)

Good ideas.... Keep 'em coming....

-Eric

This would be fun.
I can think of a few trails in Idaho to include.

It would be neat to have a 'trail' from OR->WA->ID->MT->WY->CO->UT->NV->CA->OR

(kinda krazy too)

This sure did slow down.  Are we all out of ideas.  I just thought of another one.  Steve could make the Calmini run to the Rubicon in September again >:(

I'm looking forward to whatever is picked in the WA (and OR) region ...

Some of my desires this year are:
Naches
Manastash
Evans Creek
Gallagher Head (since I was blocked last summer by snow in june)
Tillamook

Reiter is fun, but easy to find rigs to go with there :)

Heck, with Reiter you can almost just show up and find a group to run with on the spot.  I was up with a group on the 31st though, only saw 3 other rigs.  Everyone else was probably gearing up for the Hangover runs.  ;D

What about a run over to Rimrock?

Well, technically I have a SJ, but I know what you mean.  :)  I'm hoping to get some trips going this summer on the KLR, see what I can do.

The power tour sounds cool.  No tow rigs?  Pack and go? Colorado sounds good too.

here's a heeper trail report from a while back ...
http://www.nwjeepn.com/FortuneCreek1.htm

The jpg (big pic) shows trails in that area.

When we went up, they had built a logging road that paralleled the trail for a ways.

How about Liberty on Memorial weekend?  Lots of trails, good scenery, some mines to explore (if they are not occupied), near by espresso, and motel for those not willing to camp.  Great camping spots, easy to get to.
