With a 3+3 lift and 32 x 11.5 MTR's, I had to trim the back of the front fenders.
Running 4.24 TC gears and 5.83 R&P, I never had a problem with the alum. front end. All I did was to put a steel strap across the "noise" of the third member. When you go forward the housing rotates down onto the cross member and helps support it. When you go in reverse, the housing is pulling on the support bracket only. I think thats where a lot of the problems happen.
As for CV's. Stick with original CV's. I ran my originals to death and never broke one. It wasn't untill a boot ripped on them and the CV fill with mud and sand that I had to replace it. The last time I ran it was at the sand dunes. It made all kinds of poping noises but held together. Replaced them with a "Auto Zone Lift time Warrenty" ones and started braking them like crazy. Last one went and I didn't know how or when it happened...
So get spairs or replacement ones from the bone yards.
