My gearing is a fair bit higher with 33x9.5s and 5:83s than it was stock. My maths says 5:83s work best with something around 31". MOAB is a bit far for me but I reckon the rest of you are going to have to form a convoy GPSs at the ready. I have a stick and so does Jimmyn.
R&Ps are expensive though. The reason why the performance drops off is because the higher gearing reduces the torque at the tyre tread. The alternative is to find some extra torque to compensate. I haven't tried this yet but maybe a header could help a lot.

"Well, that's odd.  My speedo and odo are DEAD ON with the 5.83's and Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 31 X 10.50's! "

I'm running the same tyres and gearing and my speedo now reads 5 mph more than I'm doing (GPS Checked)

I run back and forth between stock and 5.83 the 5.83 run so much better in my stick but after front diff blowes out i got to go back to stock gears  :( speedo is out with the stock gears but is close with 5.83 just a bit out calmini thinks 32" should go on but i like the 33" club and will never go back. But them tars is hard on front ends.   You guys Talk about a third member? thats not stock is it and what are you getting it out of?

I run a complete GV V6 front steel axle casing and third member with 5:83s and the air operated 4wd engagement. My Vit (UK old shape Track/Kick) already had the 26 spline shafts.
