New bumper
« on: February 17, 2007, 03:32:43 PM »
I can now start on my new bumper. I just have to figure out how to attach it to the frame.
Any ideas? I just don't trust the frame walls as they are just over 1/16 inch thick.

I am almost done . Just need to weld it up and figure out a new marker light the original is just sitting on the bumper. I am looking for one that will look good and will not get broken off road.

Nice work, just curious about the boxed area up front. Do you think that will dig in on an approach to something steep?

I am starting to plan mine as I grabbed an 8500lb winch for cheap,
But yours and ZR2's are giving me some ideas.

The winch I have is tall and i would have to cut out the body support to get it to fit.
I had the same box on a jeep and it was fine. The box sticks out about the same as the stock bumper at that height. I did gain on the rest it only sticks out 3" on the inside and 1.5"on the corner off the body.

cool guys looks good. ZR2, do you still have the "template" to make your bumper? I'd love to make one and it'd be cool if someone could post a CAD drawing or something.
