Lowered trackick?
« on: December 18, 2015, 04:07:16 AM »
Hey guys,  tax time in getting a gas getter. One car I've been thinking is a 2nd 5 speed soft top trackkick. I've had a couple 4wd before aND I loved them. What I want to know is how easy would it be to lower one?  Can stock struts handle a 2in drop?

Why not get a 2wd and lower it ?
93 4dr Kick, stock, + 95 4dr W/TTough kit, Toy axles, 4.24 xfercase gears, 5.71 gears, Ramsey 9500 winch, twin stick xfercase, 33" BFG's
97, 4dr with a 2" lift (needs an engine re-build)

I wanted to lower a 2x Tracker and spent many days researching all the appropriate manufacturers, and found that stock struts and shocks can handle a 1" drop without damage or warranty issues.  The only proper way to do it is to put on a set of coil-overs.  That was too expensive for me, so I through on a set of KYBs and 215/75R15 Toyos.  It's not the sportscar I wanted, but it looks cool.    Chainsaw
