Lifting an 04' XL7-Insight please
« on: February 04, 2005, 02:50:45 AM »
I plan on lifting with 3/4" jeep spacers up front, 1.5" spacers in the rear for a total of 1.5" of lift (even? or 1.120" front and 1.5" rear-help here). I got my EZ Cam bolts to adjust the camber for the front alignment. Just wanna make sure I got everything and everything seems correct.

I'd like to run 17x8" Diamond Back AR117 wheels with 235/60-17 tires (1" increase over stock). Too small a tire Of course... But till it's paid off and my Jeep is dead it can't venture too far off-road (I am married).

Not new to Zooks... New to IFS Zooks however and could use some assistance in this area.

I think that for the front 3/4 = 1 lift. So, you may want to go a little bit bigger.  You may also need to get new shocks/struts.

Why larger rims???  Save you your $$$ if you don't have to get them and go with 235/75/16 for tires.  Think of it this way the less you spend the less your wife will get on your case or at least thats how it is for me :-/

Also something for you to check out is Gonzookin it an off-road event in NE PA this June.  I'll be there ;D this will be my 5th time I think?

You'll have your XL7 there? Mind if I show up with my Jeep? I swear the back window states "This Jeep ain't no Suzuki". I only live 1 redlight away from Paragon. You guys should also check out Rouche Creek ORP. Pretty slick wheeling there... Me and a friend created a trail up there that only a Samurai would get through... Then they cryed and had to widen it up. Baby's.... :>)

So 3/4" spacer only nets 1" even with the leverage effect from the a-arms... Didn't realize that.  So 3/4" spacers all around???

You might remember me... http://www.off-road.com/suzuki/reviews/ttmisslink.htm

From Alex's Suzuki List...

Use a 1" spacer up front and the 1.5 in the rear.  This should give you about 1.5 all the way around.

Yea, yea... Pick on me... I just passed up a 94' Sami with only 77k miles. Thing was MINT MINT MINT!!! But for now the Jeep will have to do (damn thing cost more to repair each year than I paid for it-J.E.E.P.) till I can sell it and get a 4dr Trackick.

Ok, so only Jeep spacers I see are 3/4" or 1.5"... Where's the 1" spacer at?

Really wish somobody would do a website that has a bit more IFS info on it. Most either offer home-grown Kama-Kazi lifts or very vauge info. Maybe I'll get back into the tech writeup scene...

Thanks.

Nice! Spare tire creek and Turtle!!! Two of my favs. Now lets see you run Rattler and Rattler II...  ;D

What's your setup again?

Not sure if you guys ever saw this. Figure you can do the same thing with an IFS Zook. Just have to bore out the center hole. I've made a ton of these before and they work great for Jeeps.

I don't see why that wouldn't work.
