SAS Kit for the XL-7
« on: March 03, 2005, 11:35:21 PM »
I sent Steve at Calmini an email about getting a logo from him for my project truck and also asked about the winch bumper for the 500th time. The reply I got was kinda weird. They said they were thinking it would become part of an SAS kit they have built. Meaning already done? Testing perhaps?

So perhaps that is the next big thing around the corner for the XL-7.

I for one hope so.  ;D

Nope, they have the guard thingi but no bumper. The full bumper says GV but they had said they never checked it on an XL. Plus they have been saying there was not enough interest to make it. ., .

Alright, just got a clarification from Calmini.

Bill-

I noticed your post on Zukiworld and must clarify something for you. Then mention of the front winch bumper in comparison to the SAS kit is that they are both parts we would like to have in production, however due to lack of customer interest in these parts, they likely will not be built for some time.

Sorry for jumping to conclusions Calmini . . . Just products we'd like to see in production as well.  :'(

The Xl and GV have the same front ends.  Or at least that was my understanding.

My understanding as well George. Evidently they are not even making the one they list on the site. From the email I have received they would need 10 orders to make a production run. That is why it still says taking pre-orders. I guess same thing with the axle skid too.

Right, but It's not like I'm going to order it if they can't tell me when it will be ready.    Also I noticed they have body lift brackets for the sidekick, I wonder if they could be used on the GV-Tracker.
2002 4DR Tracker V6 ZR2.... 1.5"/2" coil spacers front/rear, BDS Strut Extensions, 235/75R15 Cooper STT... They ROCK!!!

Looks some more of the Calmini knockoffs being done in Taiwan. Mr Left has one too, he sent me an email saying they were being shipped into TW from Hong Kong . . . ? Who knows. I just know they aren't Calmini. They look good though. I HAVE TO GET MINE FINISHED!!! ;D

According about my understand, Grand Vitara’s winch bumper are already sell at least 3 years in Taiwan.  It’s a group who likes GV very much and design the bumper by themselves. In Taiwan cannot find too many upgrade kits for most of the cars, so the car owner has to create and make by themselves.
