no more 2.7l chain tensioner problems?
« on: July 15, 2004, 12:51:30 PM »
know what weird? Its not even heard of anymore.. it seemed to be a hotspot a year ago and now no one has the problem anymore. Did the ones that were gonna fail already do it and none of the rest of us are gonna have any problems?? Or for that matter.. ac compressor problems either.. Both gone.. odd..

I hate to say but I may have the chain tensioner thing going on.  The dealer said it was mud in the starter but I find that hard.  Do to the fact that it only makes the noise on cold starts.  Dam dears never want to fix the real problem. BUt they did say that they would cover the starter :o So I guess I will let them fix that and when the noise is still there get them to fix the right thing next time around.

I am having the AC problem too. At $1000 a compressor I am hoping to find a good used one.  I have also heard that they were under oiled from the factory and only the rear air models are having the problems.  I am currently looking for a garage to inject my system with more oil.

ya know.. u may be onto something. Trucks with rear air will need more freon and oil then just front ac ones.. Do you think Zook could have made this mistake at the factory?>? wow.
