I think you are right on about the snap ring.  I'm taking it to a rebuilder to ask about your suggestion and see what we can come up with - Thank you and I appreciate the explanation as I was stuck and that put me in the right mind set

Consider the weld suggestion as a random thought that needs further development - you would need to find a machinist willing to work with you to even determine if it's feasible - it might be easier to look for a good used OEM shaft.

Now I know why the suggestion is to use original shafts.  I have the original inner shaft that goes into the differential and aftermarket going from the 3 bolt (Tulip) to the hub with a snap ring.  I need to either get a OEM shaft from a pick a part or weld as you stated correct?

What are you describing as the "outer axle"?  Is the CV axle pulling out of the inner CV joint?

There are two types of inner CV in use, the Glaenzer (commonly known as a tripod or tulip joint), and the more common Rzeppa, with 6 steel balls - OEM axles use the Rzeppa for both inner & outer joints, most after market have a Rzeppa for the outer CV, and a Glaenzer for the inner CV - the inner joints on the OEM axles have a retaining ring to stop them pulling apart, the after market axles don't use them - this may be your problem.

I'd be tempted to machine a circular "cap ring" and tack weld it to the outer end of the tulip on the aftermarket shaft - where it would serve two purposes - the first being to prevent the axle from separating and the second to strengthen the tulip.

I am having an issue when I go through any kind of terrain that flexes the CV Axle shaft.  It seems the outer axle just pulls right out of the boot.  I have limit straps and this just started happening.  Has anyone ever experienced this?  Are the after market shafts just too short?  it used to work great with the stock shaft but I don't know if something bent or is out of whack.  It was aligned and all the front end components have been changed.  I have the EDSE kit installed with the Calmini 3" suspension lift so I have drop brackets as well.

Any ideas are welcomed - Thanks
